The Seattle Kennel Club Trial
Several people had been aware that Al was getting close, and a wonderful person who has been very good to Al and I, who also had the very best of intentions, didn't see the fault that occurred 2 weeks before in our last run before the SKC trial. They didn't see Al run past the start line, and earn a refusal. They only saw his run after the clock started and assumed that everything went fine and that we only needed one more Double Q to MACH. This ended up in my Agility Club's newsletter, which came out a few days before SKC trial. The result was that I was getting a lot of "looks" from almost everyone there, because word had spread that we only needed 1 more Double Q to MACH. My nightmare was to have people start cheering MACH!!!,...MACH!!!...MACH!!!! if we earned Double Q Number 19, (still needing one more!!) and have to walk off the course to their surprise and for some, their disappointment. Once I realized what all "The Looks" were about, I spent the rest of Saturday telling everybody that gave me one of "the looks", that we needed "2 more"!! 2 more!!
