Agility Al (Algility)

Al began competing in AKC agility trials in the summer of 2003. I had never done agility before getting Al, and we learned quickly why they are called agility “trials”.
Al and I started training with Gayle George Sackett and Sally Hildt in the summer of 2001 and then joined Sally Hildt’s Wild Child Agility program at Argus Ranch in mid 2002, a few months after she started her own program. I stopped training with Sally Hildt in July of 2004, and began training with Jef Blake in May of 2005.
Al loves agility! He is better at the Jumpers with Weaves courses than on the Standard Course because he has “Table Problems”. We both learned a lot in our first season of competition and he got better as he became accustomed to the competitions. By the end of the summer he had completed his novice jumpers and standard titles, and he completed his open jumpers title at the Boston Terrier Trial at Argus Ranch in November/03.
Once we overcome our “table problems”, and Al has his Open Standard Title, I’ll begin to compete with him in the Excellent Class. In the interim, I’ll have to work on being a better partner so he can run the courses, and not have me in the way!!
